Terms of Use

1. Definitions

  • "Service" refers to the Schantt production scheduling web application accessible at schantt.com, including all features, tools, and APIs provided by Schantt.
  • "Schantt," "we," "us," or "our" refers to the operator of the Service.
  • "You," "your," or "User" refers to any individual or entity that accesses or uses the Service.
  • "Schedule Data" refers to all production scheduling data you enter into the Service, including stages, machines, product classes, products, schedules, processing times, and related configuration.
  • "Content" refers to all data, text, and information you upload, submit, or create through the Service, including Schedule Data.
  • "Team" refers to an organizational unit within the Service through which Users collaborate and manage Schedule Data.
  • "Subscription" refers to a paid plan (Standard, Premium, or Enterprise) that grants access to additional Service capacity and features.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.

We reserve the right to update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered Users of material changes via email or through the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. The current version is always available at schantt.com/terms.

3. Description of Service

Schantt is a cloud-based production scheduling application designed for flowshop manufacturing processes. The Service allows Users to:

  • Define production processes (stages, machines, product classes, products).
  • Configure scheduling parameters (processing times, changeover times, transfer times).
  • Generate optimized production schedules using automated, semi-automated, or manual modes.
  • Visualize schedules through interactive Gantt charts.
  • Collaborate with team members through role-based access.

4. Account Terms

  1. You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.
  2. You must provide a valid email address and accurate information during registration.
  3. Accounts registered by automated methods ("bots") are not permitted.
  4. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. Schantt is not liable for any loss or damage resulting from your failure to secure your account.
  5. You are responsible for all Content and activity that occurs under your account.
  6. One person or legal entity may not maintain more than one free (Demo) account.
  7. You must not use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose, including violation of any laws in your jurisdiction.

5. Subscriptions & Payments

5.1 Free Demo Plan

The Demo plan provides limited access to the Service at no cost. It is subject to the capacity limits specified on our Pricing page.

5.2 Paid Subscriptions

  1. Paid Subscriptions (Standard, Premium) are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis through our payment partner, Paddle. Paddle acts as the Merchant of Record for all transactions.
  2. All prices are in USD and exclude applicable taxes. Tax is calculated by Paddle based on your location during checkout.
  3. Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date.

5.3 Refunds

Subscriptions are non-refundable. There are no refunds or credits for partial periods of service or for unused capacity within an active Subscription. Refund requests for exceptional circumstances may be directed to our support team.

5.4 Downgrading

Downgrading your Subscription may result in loss of access to Content, features, or capacity that exceed the limits of the lower plan. Schantt is not liable for such loss. You are responsible for exporting or adjusting your data before downgrading.

6. Your Data & Intellectual Property

  1. You own your data. We claim no intellectual property rights over the Schedule Data or other Content you provide to the Service. Your data remains yours.
  2. By using the Service, you grant Schantt a limited right to process, store, and display your Content solely for the purpose of providing and improving the Service.
  3. If you choose to share schedules or other Content via sharing features, you are responsible for ensuring you have the right to share that information.
  4. We do not sell your data to third parties. See our Privacy Policy for details on how we handle your information.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  1. Use the Service in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations.
  2. Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other accounts, or related systems.
  3. Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service.
  4. Upload malicious code, viruses, or any other harmful content.
  5. Reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell, resell, or exploit any portion of the Service without express written permission.
  6. Use the Service to store or process data that you do not have the right to use.
  7. Abuse, threaten, or harass any Schantt staff or other Users.

Violation of these terms may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account.

8. Our Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, algorithms, documentation, and branding, is the intellectual property of Schantt and is protected by copyright and other laws. You may not duplicate, copy, or reuse any portion of the Service's design, code, or visual elements without express written permission.

9. Warranties & Disclaimers

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Schantt does not warrant that:

  1. The Service will meet your specific requirements.
  2. The Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free.
  3. The scheduling results or optimizations produced by the Service will be accurate, complete, or suitable for your particular production environment.
  4. Any errors in the Service will be corrected within a specific timeframe.

You acknowledge that production scheduling decisions carry operational risk. The Service provides optimization tools to assist your decision-making but does not replace professional judgment. You are solely responsible for validating schedules before use in production.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Schantt shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, including but not limited to damages for loss of profits, goodwill, data, production time, or other intangible losses, arising out of or in connection with:

  1. Your use or inability to use the Service.
  2. Any scheduling decisions made based on the Service's output.
  3. Unauthorized access to or alteration of your data.
  4. Any third-party conduct on or related to the Service.

In no event shall Schantt's total aggregate liability exceed the amount you paid for the Service during the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

11. Cancellation & Termination

11.1 Cancellation by You

  1. You may cancel your Subscription at any time through the Paddle customer portal or by contacting us.
  2. If you cancel a paid Subscription, your access continues until the end of the current billing period. You will not be charged again.
  3. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us. Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

11.2 Termination by Schantt

  1. Schantt may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, with or without prior notice depending on the severity of the violation.
  2. Schantt reserves the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason at any time.
  3. Upon termination, we will make reasonable efforts to allow you to export your data for a period of 30 days, unless the termination is due to illegal activity or severe Terms violation.

12. Modifications to Service & Prices

  1. Schantt reserves the right to modify or discontinue any part of the Service, temporarily or permanently, with reasonable notice.
  2. Subscription prices are subject to change with at least 30 days' notice. Price changes do not affect your current billing period. For annual Subscriptions, price changes take effect at the next renewal.
  3. Schantt shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, price change, suspension, or discontinuance of the Service.

13. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. By using the Service, you consent to the practices described in the Privacy Policy.

14. Disputes

Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If a dispute cannot be resolved through negotiation within 30 days, either party may pursue resolution through the courts of competent jurisdiction.

If you are in the European Union or United Kingdom, you retain all mandatory consumer protection rights under the laws of your country of residence, and you may lodge complaints with your local data protection supervisory authority.

15. General Provisions

  1. You understand that Schantt uses third-party vendors and hosting partners to provide the infrastructure required to run the Service.
  2. You must not modify, adapt, or hack the Service, or misrepresent any website or service as being associated with Schantt.
  3. The failure of Schantt to exercise or enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.
  4. If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full effect.
  5. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Schantt regarding the Service, superseding any prior agreements.
